Music and Loss

It has been a trend in my life to intensely connect with music when times get tougher.  When it's much too confusing to go back out and try to make sense of all that has happened.  When it got too painful to revisit the places that induced the suffering of what once was.  When the void of what I thought was once mine was never within my reach to begin with.

It's fascinating to realize that music alleviates the pain or even worsens it by conjuring up the rush of emotion turbulence through vivid flashbacks.  Music will always accompany life, and life is messy. So for as long as I live, there will always be that song to remind me of friends come and gone and times long lost.  But from personal experience, it find it more healthy to repeat songs than to repeat memories that only remind me of what I don't have now.  And health is always a priority.
