My Musical Journey

My continuing musical journey has been an eventful one filled with memorable experiences (sometimes ones I'd like to forget), new people come and gone, and even lessons learned.  My memory recollects the moment when I was in the back seat of my uncle's car and hearing the voices of five men singing harmoniously to a power ballad about the "meaning of being lonely".  These were the Backstreet Boys and, although they weren't the first band my ears heard, I was hooked.  The connection, one that I'm not exactly proud of, was undeniable and it planted the seed of music appreciation, something that I was unaware of at the time.

Of course, my taste in music has graduated from such boy bands (although I do enjoy a good One Direction song).  Since then, I have explored the excitement of rock and roll, the beat of jazz, the depths of blues, the trip of psyhedelic rock, the sorrow of grunge, and even the gaudy quirks of Korean pop.  Along the way, I have met a variety of different people, shared all kinds of experiences, and even had losses that made me the person I am today.  I look back on who I used to listen to and who I listen to now, and I only am excited for what's to come in the future.  As I continue to live for experiences, I am sure that my life will bring me to even more music.  I am excited and I cannot wait for tomorrow.
